TOM MERKLE
Conner Lee is one of the most highly regarded and recognized vineyards in Washington state. The vineyard was established in 1980 under the careful instruction of renown viticulturist Dr. Walter Clore, and purchased by Josh Lawrence and Tom Merkle in 2019.
The vineyard is known for its fine sandy loam soils and relatively cool, long, even ripening season that produces wines of superior texture, balance and complexity. It is widely regarded as one of the top Chardonnay sites in the Pacific Northwest, and Bordeaux varietal bottlings from the vineyard have been amongst Washington’s highest scoring wines. Over 60 wineries have produced outstanding wines from the vineyard over the years, and the client list includes many highly regarded producers.
